Firenze, Italia - My Favorite Place

Firenze, Italia (Florence, Italy). I had the opportunity to study abroad this past summer (July 2014) at the OU campus in Arezzo, Italy. While Arezzo was one of the most homey and beautiful places I've ever been to, roughly 50 miles north east of Arezzo was Florence, and wow, Florence was like nothing I've ever seen before! The evidence of the Renaissance is still very much alive, and the culture is so rich and lively. The architecture that flooded the streets was like something straight from a movie. We visited Florence multiple times while we were there, and I truly can't wait to go back in the future and experience it all over again.

  1. Oh my gosh, MacKenzi, I absolutely love Florence too! I spent a lot of time in Siena, Italy when I was a graduate student (the main professor I studied with was there), and one of my friends lived in Florence so I spent a lot of time there too. It made me so happy to see the pictures you took. My favorite place of all is Santa Croce, but the whole city is full of beautiful things to see, places to be. Maybe you will want to do an Italian project for class: the Italian storytelling tradition, plus all its art traditions too, are wonderful to work with!

And I hope you will get to go back to Italy again soon!!! :-)
