Storybook Topics Brainstorming

Topic: Sisters in Brothers Grimm
Comments: I've heard a lot of the stories told by the Grimm Brothers, but never in the sense of how the original story was written. I think it could be fun to make a Storybook over one of the many stories the Grimm Brothers wrote.
Possible stories: I looked through all four units of the Brothers Grimm stories; there were plenty to choose from. I think I might stick with either the stories from the Ashliman or Hunt.
Sample Story: There were so many to choose from! I think I might use the Snow White and Rose-Red story because the story was unlike the traditional story of Snow White, and I had no idea that version existed. I might also use the story of Rumpelstiltskin, but I will keep exploring those options!

Sample story: Snow-White and Rose-Red
Book Title: Household Tales by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm
Translated by: Margaret Hunt
Year: 1884

Topic: Women in Italian Fairy Tales
Comments: After visiting Italy this past summer, I have recently become fascinated in the Italian culture. I think I would love to do one of the Italian fairy tales for my Storybook.
Possible Stories: I looked through the Italian Fairy Tales UnTextbook, and there were many different options that caught my attention.
Sample Story: Zelinda and the Monster was one of the first that I thought seemed interesting because in the note at the beginning, it mentions that it is a story similar to Beauty and the Beast (which is one of my favorite Disney movies), so I began to read it and loved it.
Bibliography:
Sample Story: Zelinda and the Monster
Book Title: Italian Popular Tales
Author: Thomas Frederick Crane
Year: 1885

Topic: Witches in Andersen Fairy Tales (specifically the Sea Witch)
Comments: I really like fairy tales (I think you may have noticed), so I saw Hans Christian Andersen's stories in a link in the UnTextbook. I clicked it and just started exploring.
Possible Stories: All of stories in the UnTextbook of the Andersen Fairy Tales were wonderful options.
Sample Story: I liked the story of the Little Mermaid from an early age, but after reading the story in the UnTextbook, I had no idea that this story has a completely different ending. I think this might be a story I would really like to develop.
Bibliography:
Sample Story: The Little Mermaid
Book Title: Fairy Tales and Stories by Hans Christian Andersen
Author: Hans Christian Andersen
Translated by: H.P. Paull
Year: 1872

Topic: Monsters are created, not born
Comments: This idea came to me from the story of Frankenstein. I really like the story, so I decided to explore it a little more.
Possible Stories: I've read the story of Frankenstein many times, but I think I could really run with this idea and make it my own.
Sample Story: I read from Sacred Texts, an online version of Frankenstein. One thing I learned from the story is that it's important to distinguish that Dr. Victor Frankenstein's intentions were good, but the outcome was unfavorable.
Bibliography:
Sample Story: Frankenstein
Author: Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
Year: 1818
